Reply to Kathy Griffin

Hey everyone,

Now, I normally don't like to get involved with any controversy because it's just not my style but I wanted to comment on Kathy Griffin's response when she won an Emmy a couple of weeks ago.  At the end of her acceptance speech, she said, "Suck it Jesus."

So I thought to do a little video as an explanation of why we Christians got a little upset.  Check out the video below.

Into the fall we go...

Well it's September 4th and we're officially in the fall season.  I love the fall in Colorado because for a couple of months, it's about 70 degrees every day.  Then the snow hits in November and I have to shovel it from my driveway.  Apparently ice is not good to walk on.  Well, it's good for the insurance companies.

Also, I wanted to let everyone know that my book, A Stand-Up Comic Sits Down with Jesus.  A Devotional?, is officially in bookstores today.  So I encourage you to pick up a copy and start laughing your way to a better relationship with God.  It also makes a great gift idea for someone.

Anyway, have a great Tuesday and short week.

I'm on board with Nashville Speakers Bureau

After many hours of prayer, talking with wife and going over and over it in my head, I've taken the plunge and signed with Nashville Speakers Bureau.  They handle all the top talent in the entertainment industry and I'm privileged to be a a part of the team.

So, if you'd like to schedule an event with me, you can contact Tim Grable at tim@nashspeakers.com or call 615-263-4143.  Or you can just go to www.richpraytor.com and fill out the online form and I'll take care of the rest.

So anyway, I'm off to Tampa, FL tomorrow to perform for a small group's appreciate banquet.  I love doing those kind of events because everyone is laid bad and ready to laugh.  Also, I'm excited about sleeping in a hotel room, by myself, without the kids in the next room screaming for some water.  But when I get back I always tell my wife how horrible it was to sleep in a quiet, comfortable, clean (not really) bed without any interruption from the kids.

 Have a great weekend everyone,

 Rich

Camping

Our family just got back from camping in the mountains of Colorado.  OK, let me clarify, we stayed at a campground that rented cabins with full kitchens, a living room, running hotwater and a coffee maker.  My wife thinks we were 'roughing' it.  Especially since we didn't have cell phone reception.

We went fishing, hiking, toasted smores by the fire and my daughter learned that belly flopping into a mud puddle is not the best idea in the world.  It looks deep but there's only a couple inches of water.

I did a lot of fishing with my buddy Larry who is basically a pro fly fisherman.  He can catch a humpback whale with is fly rod.  Me, on the other hand, caught some bushes that were behind me with my fly rod.  I lost more flies than I care to remember.  Actually, I lost count so I can't remember.

But we didn't catch anything that week.  Apparently, all the fish were in the middle of the lake at the bottom because the lake had dropped about 6 feet in the last month.  We were fishing off shore so we didn't stand a chance of landing anything.

Just as the lake dropped, sometimes our lives come across trouble.  When that happens, get to the deepest and safest part of your life as you go through that time.  Your family, friends and most importantly, our Lord.
